• Oregon DEQ - Has an opening for a temp Air Quality Dispersion-Modeling Staff person for a period of four to six months with a possible extention available. (posted August 26, 2010)

• The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency - Has an opening for a Air Monitoring Specialist -  

  The Agency is seeking a Temporary Air Monitoring Specialist. The Agency anticipates that this temporary position will be needed for approximately one (1) year. However, the Agency reserves the right to determine exactly how long this position will be needed. This position will be in the Air Monitoring team in the Technical Analysis Department, reporting to the Technical Analysis department manager. The selected candidate will coordinate all work assignments and will routinely communicate with the Air Monitoring Lead and the staff on the monitoring team. The primary purpose of thisposition is to aid the monitoring team to efficiently operate an ambient air quality network in the Puget Sound region. The agency maintains monitors in King, Snohomish, Pierce, and Kitsap counties. The agency monitors primarily for fine particles. The agency also maintains a gravimetric laboratory for fine particle analysis. (posted Aug 11, 2010).
  
  

• The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency - Has an opening for a Temporary Air Resource Associate - for a temporary project position through December 3rd, 2011. This position provides support to the Agency’s Puget Sound Clean Cities Coalition Department of Energy (DoE) grant project. This position will be housed in the technical projects team in the Department of Clean Air Initiatives. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the lead staff person for climate protection and transportation projects and the Agency’s grant manager, and will provide project support for U.S. DoE grant-related activities.  (posted Aug 9, 2010).

2) Summer 2010 Internships - Why Hire an Intern?

Port of Seattle - Pier 69 - To provide assistance to the Seaport Environmental Program staff in tracking requirements and long term obligations associated with contaminated industrial sites, developing tracking systems and responding to information requests associated with these industrial sites.  $12.41 - $18.61 per hour. @ 37 hours a week.(Use the above link to see this and nine other intern positions.  More being added daily.  )

EPA Internships -Region 10 is looking for approximately nineteen (19) energetic and highly motivated high school and college students to gain valuable “real-world” experience under our summer hire program.

Hi Claude,

Thanks so much for your help in my job search back in October after I came to the end-of-summer party! I wanted let you know that I have some good news to share. :)

I recently received an offer from King County, Solid Waste Division, where I will be working as an entry-level engineer starting April 1st. I will be doing analysis of environmental data as well as some sampling and fieldwork. I am really excited to have gotten this position.
