EXTENDED DEADLINE – SUBMIT BY SEPTEMBER 15TH! 

You are invited to submit an abstract for the 61st Annual Conference of the Pacific Northwest International Section of the Air & Waste Management Association hosted by the A&WMA Puget Sound Chapter. The conference will be held October 25 – 27, 2023 at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort and Conference Center located at 15347 Suquamish Way NE, Suquamish, WA

We are soliciting presentations to be given during the conference through this call for abstracts on subjects including but not limited to:

  • Facility permitting
  • Modeling and monitoring (facility level and regional)
  • Environmental regulations and legislation
  • Enforcement cases and legal perspectives
  • Air toxics, risk analysis, cumulative risk
  • Climate change, cap and trade programs, and climate resiliency
  • Beyond compliance
  • Environmental sustainability, recycle and reuse
  • Environmental management systems
  • Emerging contaminants
  • Municipal and hazardous waste management.
  • Renewable energy and green transportation
  • Cultural resource protection, presentation, and preservation
  • Stakeholder engagement and working with local communities
  • Port environmental issues (marine and aviation)
  • Wastewater management
  • Solid waste management
  • Academic Research

Abstracts are limited to no more than 200 words, and should include a clear description of the purpose and content of the proposed presentation.

Each presenter should plan on presenting for 20 minutes and allow 5 minutes for questions following the presentations. Abstracts are due by September 15, 2023. Authors will be notified of their acceptance in late September 2023.

Session chairs and presenters can receive a discount code on registration fees for a full conference registration (not available for student registration). 

Awards for Best Technical Presentation and Best Student Presentations are given during the awards ceremony at the conference.
