The BC-Yukon Chapter of the A&WMA is pleased to announce a presentation on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) provided by Nick Lindley-Peart and Raghav Mathur, Senior Consultants with KPMG.

Presentation Title:

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG): Essentials, Political and Regulatory Landscape, Key Drivers, and Case Studies

Presentation Abstract:

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles are reshaping industries that environmental consultants work with every day – mining, energy, forestry, and beyond. These shifts are influencing investment decisions, regulatory frameworks, and operational strategies, creating new expectations for engineering professionals in air and waste management.

In this presentation session, we will cover:

  • ESG Essentials: What It Is and Why It Matters
  • The Political and Regulatory Landscape for ESG: How global and regional policies are driving change.
  • Key Drivers Shaping ESG Adoption: Investor pressure, compliance requirements, supply chain influences, and more.
  • Case Studies from Client Projects: Real-world examples of ESG challenges and advisory solutions that delivered measurable impact.

 What You’ll Gain:
A clear understanding of ESG fundamentals, insight into the forces shaping ESG strategy, and practical examples of how ESG connects to engineering practices in air and waste management. You’ll leave with actionable knowledge to help align your work with evolving ESG expectations and industry trends.
