Lunchtime Tour at Avista’s Boulder Park Generating Station

Join the AWMA Inland Northwest Chapter on November 8, 2023 for a lunchtime tour of Avista’s Boulder Park Generating Station! The generating station is located at 4424 N. Barker Road, Spokane, WA 99027. The tour will be from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM.

Situated in the Spokane Valley, Boulder Park Generating Station is one of Avista’s natural gas-fired power plants. Built in 2002, the plant uses six identical engines to produce roughly 24.6 MW of energy to distribute to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The tour will cover the station’s unique operations and environmental compliance requirements.

This tour can only accommodate 10 individuals. Please email Janna Loeppky at janna.loeppky[at]avistacorp[dot]com to confirm your spot as soon as possible. Lunch will be provided by Avista. Please include any dietary restrictions in your RSVP to Janna.

Required Attire: Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. Additional required PPE includes eye protection, hard hats, high-vis vest and ear plugs. If you do not have PPE, some will be available to borrow.

Additional driving instructions: If the road off Barker is closed, guests can come in from Trent. Just turn left next to the RV shop. The gate should be open. Please park on the road within the fenced grounds directly as you enter. Carpooling is encouraged if possible as parking is minimal.
