Oregon Clean Fuels Program Updates Technical Luncheon
Co-hosted with Oregon Association of Environmental Professionals
March 12, 2024
The Clean Fuels Program is one of Oregon’s most successful statewide policies for addressing the state’s contribution to global climate change. Since its implementation in 2016, this program has made significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from Oregon’s transportation fuels, such as gasoline and diesel. This has been achieved through implementing incremental changes to transportation fuel standards each year to ultimately achieve a 37% reduction in GHGs by 2035. In 2021, amendments were made to the program to include several aspects related to vehicle electrification and lower carbon electricity generation. Cory Ann Wind and Bill Peters will discuss progress made by the program, implications of the 2021 amendments, and a look towards the future of the program.
