Over 100 participants attended the first moderated panel discussion in the PNWIS Source Test Professional Development series. Lynette Haller, Washington Department of Ecology, skillfully moderated the panel of three experts focused on source test planning, a crucial phase for ensuring a successful source test.  The interactive panel discussion provided an opportunity for virtual attendees to submit questions and allowed the panel to expand on topics identified as critical to source testing planning. This included method selection, sampling time and volume, detection and quantification limits, test plan content and approval and selecting a testing services contractor. The panel provided different perspectives with Jason Bouwman, Northwest Clean Air Agency, representing the regulatory Agency perspective, Erin Strang, Phillips 66 – Ferndale, representing a regulated facility, and Kristina Schafer, Montrose, representing a testing services contractor.

The PNWIS Board wants to recognize the efforts of our moderator, panelists and volunteers in successfully implementing this first session. And thank you to our attendees for participating in this event. Registration is still open for second sessions of the series which will focus on testing and test observation, and report content and review.
